The Strutt Film Festival Screening & Selection Process
- All submitted films are reviewed by a diverse pool of 3 - 8 screeners and festival programmers.
- An entry receiving 2 or 3 positive reviews moves on to the next phase for further consideration. An entry receiving just 1 positive review, but a very high rating, also moves onto the next phase for further consideration. A film that receives no positive reviews or just 1 moderately positive review in the first phase, does not move on for additional consideration.
- Entries in the second phase of the screening process are watched together by small committees of 3 - 4 screeners & programmers. These films are discussed, and individual reviews and ratings by each committee member. Top-rated films are recommended for final selection.
- The final selection phase is determined by festival programmers and the director, who collectively review all of the large amount of recommended work that is ultimately chosen for programming. They factor in reviews/ratings by prior screeners and discuss final selection choices in consideration of the entire festival program.
- Highly rated entries, not selected for the festival, may be invited to participate in other screening opportunities with the The Strutt Film Festival or partnering exhibitors/distributors.
